Beautician’s Badge

Aim: The aim of this badge is to help girls to develop good skin and hair care.

Objectives: To provide safe and informed knowledge about skin and hair and how to keep it healthy.

Members and Senior Members

1.       Know why it is important to take care of your skin.

2.       Know why it is important to use sun screen all year round.

3.       Know the importance of hair care & hair treatment.

4.       Learn about the composition and care of your nails. Complete the attached worksheet.

5.       Learn about the composition of the skin. Complete the attached worksheet.

6.       Know the different skin tones and types. Choose a foundation for your skin colouring and know why it is suitable.

7.       Write a paragraph about your own skin type and the products you would use

8.       Research a health club/spa in your area and the various ranges of treatments available. Choose a treatment that would best suit your skin type and explain why.

9.       Within your group take part in a make-up demonstration.

10.     Research skin diseases and disorders. Choose one and explain the treatment for the condition.

11.      Within your group take part in a manicure and nail painting/nail art session.

In addition to the first 3 sections which are compulsory, please choose 5 further sections to complete this badge.

It is recommended that this badge is completed in conjunction with a visit from a qualified beautician.
