Save the Date! Saturday 27th September 2025 – 150km walk for 150 years of GFS World

GFS Ireland are hosting a 150km social walk to celebrate 150 years of GFS World on Saturday 27 September 2025 at 2pm.

All branches across the island of Ireland will take part, starting the walk with a prayer from GFS World President Jeanne Withanage.

The goal is that each Diocese will cover a distance of 150km.

The Purpose? To promote health and wellbeing (SDG 3), and support GFS World Goal 2: Connectivity, enjoying the outdoors, calm, quiet through forest bathing.

All branches will be encouraged to end their walk with a picnic to celebrate community.

To take part, ask your local Diocesan Secretary for details.

As we step forward, let us thank God for all things past
and look forward to what He has for each of us:

Let us pray for
A Peaceful soul and a relaxed mind,
A Joyful spirit may we find,
Wisdom, strength and hope to treasure,
Compassion and kindness without measure.
Courage to preach God’s mighty Word
To the uttermost reaches of the world.
Quietness to hear God’s gentle voice,
Time to respond and to rejoice.
Resolve to reach the stars up high,
Wings of faith to soar and fly.
A healthy body and a heart of Love,
God’s blessing and guidance from above.
May God be forever near,
Throughout the future years.
