GFS All Ireland Camp 2025

In April 2025, GFS Ireland held its annual Camp. This year the camp was held in Drewstown House in Fordstown, Co.Meath.

Junior Helper Tara Ann told us all about her experience:

‘As we arrived to Drewstown House on Friday afternoon for GFS Camp, there was great excitement amongst the leaders and girls who were ready to spend a full weekend having fun and creating lots of memories! Once everyone was settled in and familiar with their rooms we all headed over to the sports hall for some ice breaker games followed by a self defence workshop, a drama workshop and also a drum workshop. Also, a shoutout for Hilda and her team for all of her amazing work over the weekend in the kitchen where she prepared food for the whole camp of over 100 people.

For every activity we either completed it in our branch or coloured group which were picked before arrival. Our main activity for the second day of camp was our very own Olympic games which we completed in our colour groups. Each group was made up of around 9 girls, one leader and one helper. We also had a very enjoyable illustrator workshop on Saturday morning. To finish off Saturday we had a photo scavenger hunt and a very well enjoyed Karoke session in the front hall! Everyone had such fun clapping and singing along to each of the songs that were picked. Lastly to round off our second day at Drewstown House we had supper and prayers around the fire pit outside. Sunday morning was spent packing up and completing arts and crafts which was followed by our Team Games Final. The two teams that had scored the most points from the olympics from the previous day had to complete a game of volleyball to get a winner!

To complete our wonderful weekend we had a lovely service, lead by [GFS All Ireland President] Myra, which had action songs throughout and a few awards at the end. Overall, GFS All Ireland Camp 2025 was hugely successful and I think everyone had such great fun and also got to meet new people from other GFS branches! I personally cannot wait for next year!’
