GFS at General Synod 2026

General Synod of the Church of Ireland took place in Newcastle, Co Down from 7th Ma to 9th May 2026 at the Slieve Donard Hotel.

As in previous years, GFS had a stand in the exhibition hall to promote the work of GFS.  Visitors to the stand complimented the varied but structured program that GFS provides whilst keeping God at the centre of all we do.  The stall was ably manned by Sylvia Quinn, former Central President from Kilmore, Elphin & Ardagh, Jane Campbell from Meath & Kildare, and Alison Jackson from Armagh & Clogher Dioceses.

During Synod, Bishop Adrian Wilkinson (Cashel, Ferns and Ossory) highlighted the work of uniformed organisations in the Church in working with children in parishes, and in particular GFS.
