A Prayer for Advent 

Dear God,
Thank You for the season of Advent. As we wait for Christmas, help us to be patient, kind, and full of hope. Show us how to share Your light and love with others, even in small ways.
Amen.

A Prayer for Friendship

Dear God,
Thank You for the friends we have in GFS. Help us to look after one another, include others, and spread joy wherever we go. May our friendships reflect Your love this December.
Amen.

A Prayer for Helping Others

Dear Father,
Please help us notice people who need care or comfort this month. Give us gentle hearts and willing hands so we can make a difference. Help us to follow Jesus’ example in all we do.
Amen.

A Christmas Prayer

Lord Jesus,
As Christmas comes closer, remind us why we celebrate. Thank You for Your love, Your peace, and the happiness You bring to the world. Help us share that joy with our families, friends, and everyone we meet.
Amen.

As December unfolds, we thank you for all the blessings of the past year.

In the bustle of Christmas shopping guide our thoughts, help us to remember that Christmas is about far more than all the material things we can have.

Help us to remember it’s about your Son our Saviour coming into the world.

Help us to focus on the birth of the baby Jesus.

Help us to remember those who are less fortunate than us.

Let us try to keep Jesus in our hearts all year, not just at Christmas.

Amen.

Lord as we journey through Advent with our gaze turned to the manger, in that stable in Bethlehem, may the light of Christ shine in us and through us. 

May our hearts be ready to welcome him,

May our homes be places where Christ is known,

And may our lives be a witness to the love God has shown us, sending his son to be our Saviour.

Amen
