Thoughts and Prayers for December 2024
Thought for December 2024:
God, this Christmastime, we pray for peace around that cave in Palestine, peace in our crazy world, and peace in our hearts and homes. Amen.
The Three Camels
One Camel said, “I’ve got the hump –
This king is such a heavy lump,
I’ve carried him both night and day
And now I think I’ve lost my way”.
The next one said “The follow me –
A shinning star ahead I see,
And all will come from near and far
Led onwards by that guiding star”.
‘They’re searching for a new-born King”,
The third one said, “And Peace he’ll bring
And in a stable, so ’tis said,
They’ll find Him in a manager bed”.

Prayer for Members December 2024:
Heavenly Father, as we look back over the year,
We give you thanks for your many blessings –
Protection, guidance and provision.
Now as we look forward to Christmas,
We pray that the Light of the Christ Child
Will shine through our celebrations
To reach out to others in acts of
kindness, sharing and caring.
In Jesus’ precious name we pray.
Amen.

Prayer for Juniors December 2024:
Thank you God, for the Baby King,
Happy Birthday to Jesus we sing,
We welcome Him this Christmas time,
Let all the bells ring out their chime!

Happy Birthday Jesus Candle:
Scripture: Matthew: 2v11
This birthday candle representes out celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmastime. On Christmas Day, light the candle and sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus. Talk about how you celebrate your birthday. You can even make a card or a cake for Jesus!

- Read Matthew 2:11. How did the Magi celebrate the birth of Jesus? What gifts did they bring?
- What gifts can you give to Jesus today?
- What is one reason you can worship Him?
- How do you celebrate birthdays in your family?
- Is it easy for you to remember that Christmas is all about Jesus or do you find yourself getting caught up in celebrating other things like presents and parties?
- PRAY – Thank you for sending Jesus to earth as a free gift to us.
