Send your thoughts around the earth

To each far distant shore,

Till children of the world unite,

And fight and war no more.

For loving thoughts create a peace,

And joy which can’t be bought.

Prayer for Members:

Dear God,

In this month when we remember the fallen in wars past and present, with an acute awareness of the ongoing destruction and loss of life in conflicts around the world, we offer sincere prayers for peace.

In the face of injustice, when the powerful nations appear to have the upper hand, please help us sustain a faith to believe that they cannot stand against you.

In our daily lives, help us to pursue peace, to avoid useless arguments and not to be easily angered. Help us to rely more on you, our Heavenly Father, to find patience in adversity.

God, we know deep down through our faith in you, that no matter what lies ahead of us, you will journey with us holding us close as we meet each tomorrow. Amen.

 

Prayer for Junior Members:

Thank you, God for all our friends. Please help us to be good to each other and learn not to argue or sulk to get our own way. Teach us to wait our turn and to say sorry and make up if we have a row. May we show your love to one another day by day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assist for Peace:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand,

to be loved as to love,

For it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born for eternal life.
