Thoughts and Prayers for November 2025
Dear Lord in this month of November we see all around us the small bright red poppy which symbolizes remembrance. We remember the sacrifice of the men & women who died during the war fighting for their country, we think about the courage these men & women had, the danger these soldiers were in, the compassion that they had helping each other, the worry & the sadness of their families which were at home praying for them and we think about the destruction of the battlefields. In the mist of all of that Lord, we remember that you give them a sign of hope among the bleakness of those barren muddy battlefields, a bright & cheerful flower, the poppy.
Today, Lord, help us to look at the poppy more closely, let us see the same sign of hope in this little red flower that those soldiers seen.
When we see the red petals let it remind us of the dangers in this world, we ask you Lord to remain close to those who are in any kind of danger, give them courage to seek help and give compassion to all those who help others.
The poppy is a delicate flower. Help us Lord to care for those who have found themselves in a bad or delicate situation, those who are hurting and those who are sad. Please Lord give comfort to those who are grieving the loss of someone they love, especially within our GFS Family.
The centre of the poppy is round and black, it remains us of all the sadness in the world, war torn countries, poverty, climate change, refugees, the list Lord is endless: we ask you Lord to guide the people in authority and to give them wisdom, strength and courage to work together to improve our world.
The poppy, a sign of hope – as GFS members Lord we ask for your guidance and encouragement so we can be resilient like the poppy showing hope, love and encouragement to those around us on a daily basis, and to the branches worldwide. Help us Lord to spread your word, your faithfulness and your love, we ask this in your glorious name.

Juniors Prayer
Dear God, Thank you for this month of November and all the good things in our lives. We are thankful for our families, our friends, and our school. Help us to be thankful for everything you have given us. Please give us the courage to try new things this month. Help us to be kind to others and to share our love and joy. Bless us as we learn and grow. In your name, we pray. Amen
Seniors Prayer
Almighty and merciful God, as we enter this month of November, we turn our hearts to you with gratitude and remembrance. We thank you for the gift of life and for all the blessings we have received. Let us remember those who give their lives so that we could have freedom, carrying their memory as a source of strength and comfort. Inspire us Lord to be instruments of your peace in a world troubled by conflict. Grant us the grace to live justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with you all our days. Amen
